Hummingbird Studios offers photographic artwork for home decor and gift giving. Our attractively matted shadow box prints are "ready to frame and ready to go", pack easily for mailing, and fit standard sized frames.
Reflecting the beauty and harmony of nature, our open-edition prints are available in your choice of ivory or black mats. Each piece is signed and dated by the photographer.
An extensive portfolio provides versatility for interior decor, feng shui placement, and all occasion giving.
Awards
Recent awards include First Place, Second Place, and Honorable Mention for "Tara’s Bliss", "Crowning Glory, and "Lolipops" (respectively) at the juried "2000 Southeastern Flower Show" held in Atlanta.

The Hummingbird Studios Portfolio
The Hummingbird Studios portfolio showcases subjects ranging from the secular to the sacred, with a variety of botanicals, butterflies, fireworks, and other nature images included.
A specialty line, "Cathedral Lights", presents a series of sanctuary stained glass prints available to sacred art enthusiasts.
Mat Dimensions / Image Size/ Pricing
Conventional mat dimensions in 8x10 and 11x14 make frame selection a simple and budget-friendly process.
Our 8x10 inch shadow box mats display photo images which are approximately 3x5 inches, while our 11x14 shadow box mats display images which are approximately 5x7 inches. Our triple-matted miniatures are displayed in 8x10 mats, which have a smaller, 2x3 inch opening.
Mat colors are available in ivory or black, to harmonize with general decorative schemes.

* The exception to this pricing schedule is the "Cathedral Lights" collection. Those are priced at $50.00 for the 8" x 10" and $75.00 for the 11" x 14" mat sizes. A portion of sales receipts from the "Cathedral Lights" collection are contributed to the churches that have graciously permitted our photography.

All in stock items are shipped within three business days of receipt of your order. We will inform you of delays due to back orders. Our method of shipping (USA) is US Postal Priority mail. All orders are insured. For orders of under $100.00, we charge $5.50 shipping charge, including handling and insurance. For orders of $100.00 or over, shipping, handling and insurance is FREE.

Photographic Artwork in Shadow Box Mats
Hummingbird Studios prints are uniquely displayed in 8x10 and 11x14 double mats, utilizing a spacing technique which creates a pleasing, three dimensional "shadow box" effect. (In our web site illustrations, this effect is more noticeable in our ivory matted prints than those matted in black.)
"Ready to Frame and Ready to Go!"
The concept for our shadow box mats arose from a desire to provide attractively matted prints, which were "ready-to-frame and ready-to-go", for gift giving and home / office decor.
In doing so, we wanted to offer photo art displayed in a manner which was tasteful, unique, and superior to the uninspiring "flat" mats which characterize most photographs on the market.
Additionally, we wanted to showcase our prints in a double-mat which would produce a clean and simple shadow box effect.
Finally, we wanted to offer our customers a product which was easy to frame at a reasonable cost. The idea for a three dimensional shadow box mat ensued.
Budget Friendly Frame Selection
Because we wanted frame selection to remain an uncomplicated and budget friendly process, we needed a mat with modified spacing between upper and lower sections. We decided to offer mat sizes in two standard dimensions, and with two basic colors that would harmonize with general decorating schemes.
Although frame selection is not presently offered by Hummingbird Studios, a wide range of ready made and custom frames is available through local art and craft stores or your neighborhood frame shop. (Why not drop by and browse a bit!)
